Electro-Brite Acid Cleaner #4AProduct DescriptionElectro-Brite Acid Cleaner #4A is an acidic liquid material which, when diluted with water, can be used to clean and activate copper on printed circuit boards.Electro-Brite Acid Cleaner #4A will remove oxides and activate the copper surfaces prior to electroplating and will not affect most resists normally used in the through-hole plating process. A typical application utilizes Electro-Brite Acid Cleaner #4A followed by a microetch , such as CO-BRA ETCH®, prior to acid copper electroplating. Solution makeup

Electro-Brite Acid Cleaner #6AProduct DescriptionElectro-Brite Acid Cleaner #6A is an acidic liquid material which, when diluted with water, can be used to clean, condition and activate copper and copper alloys.Acid Cleaner #6A is designed for immersion use and should not be used in spray applications. It will remove oxides and activate copper surfaces prior to electroplating. Acid Cleaner #6A effectively removes photoresist residues while not adversely affecting most resists normally used in the through-hole plating process. As with all acid cleaners, a minimum of two rinses are recommended after treatment with Acid Cleaner #6A. Circuit boards prepared with Acid Cleaner #6A should receive a mild microetch prior to electrolytic copper plating. Solution makeup

Important considerationsDue to the effectiveness of Acid Cleaner #6A in removing resist residues it may not be compatible with all resist types. It is recommended to evaluate Acid Cleaner #6A with any new resist types before implementing it on the line. Please consult Electrochemicals' technical personnel for recommendations Electro-Brite Acid Cleaner #7AProduct DescriptionElectro-Brite Acid Cleaner #7A is an acidic liquid material which, when diluted with water, can be used to clean and activate copper and copper alloys.Electro-Brite Acid Cleaner #7A will remove oxides and activate the copper surfaces prior to electroplating and will not affect most resists normally used in the through-hole plating process. Circuit boards prepared with Electro-Brite Acid Cleaner #7A require no additional treatment prior to electrolytic copper plating. Solution makeupLow Temperature Operation:

Important considerationsElectro-Brite Acid Cleaner #7A is designed to produce a mild etch on copper surfaces. The etch rate is dependent upon the type of copper surface, the solution operating temperature and the amount of copper in solution. As the bath is utilized, the copper content in solution increases producing accelerated etch rates according to the graph below. The rate of increase of copper in solution is also dependent on the type of copper being processed and the amount of surface oxidation present. Normally a bath life will be approximately 300 - 450 square feet/gallon. ![]() When processing electroless copper deposits through Electro-Brite Acid Cleaner #7A, the etch rate on that particular deposit should be determined so that the bath can be discarded prior to the point at which the etch rate is more than is desired. Micro-EtchantsElectrochemicals is the developer and marketer of the CO-BRA Etch® Process, the standard hydrogen peroxide microetchant in use by the printed wiring board industry today. We also provide the Cu-prep series of microetchants. See the descriptions for these products in the yellow tab: "Innerlayers"The CO-BRA Etch® Process and the Cu-prep products are excellent panel and pattern plate microetchants. Additional productsElectrochemicals provides numerous other cleaners, pattern plate aqueous developers, and defoamers. Ask an Electrochemicals representative for further details. |
