| Electrochemicals expand marketing agreement for Shikoku Gilcoat SMD OSPs |

October 3, 2003Electrochemicals, Inc. and Shikoku Chemicals Corporation (Japan) announce that the two companies have expanded their marketing agreement for the Shikoku Glicoat SMD Organic Solderability Preservatives (OSP).These materials are used to enhance the solderability of printed wiring boards, in particular as a preservative prior to assembly. |
Currently, Electrochemicals has marketing responsibility for the United States and Canada. With the expanded agreement, Electrochemicals has the additional responsibilities for Germany , Benelux, Switzerland, Austria, Bulgaria and Hungary. The expanded arrangement has already yielded results as several Germany-based pwb fabricators have switched to Glicoat including Ruwel and Schweizer. The Shikoku Glicoat SMD process is the market share leader for OSPs in Japan and the Asian Rim. |
