February 20 - 25, Los Angeles, CA
The premier exhibition and technical conference for PWB Fabrication and Assembly took place February 20-22 at the Los Angeles, California Convention Center. This was a new and exciting venue for IPC Apex/Expo and booth space was sold out, with a waiting list for potential exhibitors.

There were opportunities to view the latest in process, material and fabrication technologies for printed wiring board manufacturing. Experts from around the globe were on hand to share leading edge and state of the art technologies.

Opening ceremonies ushered in each day of the exhibition with noted keynote speakers. Walt Custer, industry prognosticator, discussed the future of the pwb industry. Dr. Buzz Aldrin, space pioneer and American hero, provided us with a vision of what space travel may be like.

A variety of topics was covered by experts, including HDI, embedded passives, lead-free technology and new high performance materials. Over 40 workshops and over 120 technical papers were presented. Electrochemicals personnel were heavily involved in presenting workshops on leading edge pwb processes as well as presenting a technical paper on plated through hole reliability.
On the show floor at the Anaheim Convention Center visitors talked with suppliers and OEMs. Electrochemicals was at Booth #437 with technical experts showing how we can help you gain a competitive advantage. We introduced several new products including Nickel Sol EN, a proprietary stripper for electroless nickel deposits, showing guests how to save money and reclaim potentially lost revenues from electroless nickel defects.

We explained how we can help you plate high aspect ratio vias with the latest in pulse plating technology. Our newly developed CABAS Superfilling Process, initially designed for the semiconductor industry, is being utilized to completely fill blind vias with plated copper. We also discussed how to improve reliability of your multilayer boards with Electrochemicals Technology for Value solution.
